To the original music of The Tiger Lillies, The Whore of Babylon is a reinterpretation of the myth of the Great Harlot (Revelation, 17), a living, carnal, feminist fresco that embraces pleasure, explodes the forces of binary domination and all references to Good and Evil and overthrows Hell to make it the Paradise of God. Between contemporary circus, physical theatre and live music, this play with a dark and offbeat humour is based on the writings of Georges Bataille, is inspired by the carnal work of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio and is created in consultation with the Biblicist Sébastien Doane.
